Thanksgiving

So for thanksgiving Fred and Liz rented a cabin in Eaglesmere, PA. Christian and Casey flew in for the holiday. Jane, Connor, Evana and uncle Tom came up as well. We ate a lot of food and played a lot of Texas Hold Em'. Chris, Eric and Connor threw around the foot ball, but failed to organize a legitimate Turkey Bowl. Eric explored the area on his mountain bike. Probably one of the best thanksgivings that I can remember.

The wood around Eaglesmere were a blast. Its not really a mt. bike destination, but off season no one really bothers you. I rode the white trail and the red trail; neither were all that long, but both were fun. These trails connected to Worlds End State Park. I was alone and didn't want to get lost, so I didn't explore there that much.

Josh & Devin's Wedding

Genell and I photographed Josh and Devin's wedding on September 13, 2009. There wedding was at John James Audobon Center. It was probably one of the most fun weddings we ever attended. All of our friends were there. The weather was great. The location was beautiful.

After the wedding we all got rooms at the Radisson at Valley Forge. If you want a good laugh check out their fantasy suites.

It was an exhausting day of work, but we had a great time and the pictures turned out awesome.
Here is sampling of some of our favorite shots.

Summer '09 Recap Pt. 2

After San Francisco, we return to Philadelphia.
We worked and tended to our cats and dogs.

Genell scored tickets to a couple baseball games. This is from the Phillies vs. Pirates game on July 10th 2009. We sat in Section 118, row 20.

On August 8th we flew in to North Carolina for another much needed vacation away from work. We went with our friends Matt and Lauren. We flew in to Raleigh and before heading out to Kill Devil Hills, we stopped n one of the parks. We posed in front of a fireman memorial and ate hot dogs and this famous 'restaurant'.

After exploring Raliegh, we got into our rental car and drove to the Outer Banks. The ride was long but we entertained ourselves.

When we finally got to our rental house, we headed straight to the beach for some sun which we thought we would be spoiled with. Little did we know that this would be our only sunny day of the trip.

Mid-week, Gerald and Nicole, two of our friends from Philly drove down to hang out with us. We made huge dinners at night and went sightseeing during the day.

We visited the Wright Brothers national memorial. Here's Genell doing a cartwheel in front of the hill they took off from. And Genell again, on the right, giving Wilbur Wright a smooch.

We drove down to the sand dunes and played like little kids in the sand....

...we had jumping contests to see who could jump the farthest down the hills and took tons of pictures in the marbled sand.

Summer '09 Recap Pt. 1

San Francisco

We flew in to SanFrancisco on June 14th for Christa and Tim's wedding. Our first order of business was to rent a car in order to drive to Napa Valley where the wedding was. We were crunched for time so we got dressed for the wedding in the bathroom at the car rental dealership. Classy.

Tim and Crista's wedding was a blast. The ceremony was beautiful. The reception was a lot of fun. The food was so good! Everything was very fresh and prepared perfectly with local ingredients. At the cocktail hour they had the best lamb chops ever (they were like meat pop candy on a stick); Eric had like 6 or 7 of them! For dinner Eric had a steak with potatoes and asparagus, Genell had the veggie option (mushroom risotto). The music was great but by the time the cake was cut, we were EXHAUSTED and drove back to our hotel struggling to keep our eyes open.

The next day we woke up and went to the wedding brunch at a great country club. And, again, more unbelievable food....and mimosas for Genell.

...then we went back to San Francisco, where we kept busy doing the typical touristy things.

We rode bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausilito...

...rode on cable cars and trolleys...

...we walked around the neighborhoods...

...and visited the California Academy of Sciences

and went to a Giant's game with some people from the hostel we stayed at.

We also met some really nice locals at the rock climbing gyms and the hookah bars.

It was a great vacation and we can't wait to go back out west!

Intro

This is us! Eric and Genell. We like to take photos.
This blog will be a place where we share our thoughts, perspectives and experiences through photography.
These GenEric photos will expose our not-so-generic lives.

More about us:

The Animals...

The kitties! Linkavitch, AKA 'Link' (white and yellow) and Ferris (foreground) are rescues from Camden, NJ and I (Genell) love them a lot. They're 5-year old brothers from the same litter (but different dad's) and sleep together all the time. I like to tease them and love them and cuddle with them and do the 'kitty bouquet'. Link enjoys movie time and anything with milk in it. Ferris likes to sleep under the sheets and snack on tuna.

This is Photoshop the dog. I (Eric) rescued Photo from the streets of Germatown in 2004. When he was found he was under a year old and was extremely malnourished. Photo has extreme anxiety issues originating from his life on the street.

He has been a loyal and grateful companion from the beginning. Photos favorite things to do are to eat and play. He loves running through the wood with me on my mountain bike. Photo hates vacuums and getting wet.

Stay tuned!
